1. Using KanjiQuiz

The daily KanjiQuiz puzzle is free to play. An account is optional for the daily game, but is required for saved cross-device progress and other account features. You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure.

KanjiQuiz is a learning game, not a dictionary, translation service, or guarantee of language proficiency. Readings and meanings are prepared carefully, but language can vary by context.

2. Existing customer agreements

When new sales are unavailable, existing agreements and customer rights continue. Members can manage billing and cancellation; advertisers retain portal and invoice access. For existing advertising bookings, the agreed quotation, payment and delivery terms remain applicable.

Existing Plus memberships renew for the same prepaid term unless cancelled before renewal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period, with access continuing until then. An existing subscription normally keeps its attached price version; changes to renewal prices require advance notice and must be permitted by law.

Stripe processes existing membership payments. Cancelling prevents the next renewal and does not normally create a partial refund. Digital membership periods are non-returnable except where required by law or where rePlay LLC agrees that the service was not supplied as described. Contact support about duplicate or unauthorized charges.

3. Personal study and acceptable use

You may use KanjiQuiz for your own learning. You may not scrape, crawl, automate collection, bypass rate limits, obtain boards in bulk, export content as a dataset, share account access, republish substantial portions, or use KanjiQuiz content to build or train a competing product without written permission.

We may limit or terminate access when use threatens the service, other users, or KanjiQuiz content. Where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to correct non-urgent misuse.

4. Content and intellectual property

KanjiQuiz’s original puzzle boards, selection and arrangement of word lists, authored English meanings and explanations, visual design, software, and branding are copyrighted or otherwise protected content of rePlay LLC or its licensors. Permission to play or copy study text does not transfer ownership or grant republication rights.

Kanji characters, ordinary Japanese words, and factual readings are not claimed as proprietary by themselves. The protected work is the original selection, arrangement, authored text, presentation, and software that make up KanjiQuiz.

5. Availability and changes

We aim to provide one daily puzzle from 7:00 AM Japan Standard Time and reliable account access, but maintenance, security work, network failures, or events beyond our control may interrupt the service. We may improve, replace, or retire features while taking reasonable care not to remove a paid benefit during an active prepaid term without an appropriate remedy.

6. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, KanjiQuiz is provided without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded, or limits liability where doing so is prohibited by law.

7. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The appropriate court in Japan will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that apply to you.
